Babcock Library Services
The Library provides four public access computers for patron use. The Internet and word processing capabilities are provided through thesecomputers. Computer generated printouts are ten cents per page;ten free copies are provided for K-12 students, for educational use only.
Copier –
Copy service is available for the public. A modest fee of ten cents per page is charged for adults; ten free copies are provided for K-12 students, for educational use only. Additional fees include: twenty cents for double-sided copies and twenty cents for 11 X 17 copies.
FAX –
FAX service is available for the public. Patrons can both send and receive FAX transmissions. Fees are charged for this service. The Library’s FAX number is (860) 487-4438.
Book Drop – Thanks to a donation in 2003 by The Friends of the Babcock Library, a Book Drop is provided for patron convenience at the entrance to the Town Hall. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. Any item can be returned in the book drop, including non-print material.
Senior HousingVisits
The Babcock Library makes a monthly visit to the Pompey Hollow Senior Housing complex. During these visits, residents may exchange items for extended check-out periods. Visits are held the first Friday of every month in the Community Room. Call the Library for schedule changes at (860) 487-4420.
Museum Passes –
Passes are available for discounted admissions to the Mystic Aquariumin Mystic; the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford; and the Roger Williams ParkZoo in Providence. Discounts and loan periods vary; some passes mayrequire a refundable deposit. Passes may be booked inadvance by calling the Library at (860) 487-4420.
Daypacks –
Daypacks, for both adults and children, are available to Library cardholders. Daypacks are sturdy backpacks filled with essentials for hiking, biking,birding, or daytripping. Daypacks are loaned free of charge for a periodof seven days. Daypacks may be booked in advance by calling the Library at (860) 487-4420.
